Ah. Hmm. One of the best singles I heard was a Flowmaster muffler with a - shoot, hmm, can't remember the center resonator type. Very nice, though, hmm. Hold on.
Nope, can't remember. I'll find out for you. I have to find my notes. I have a sound clip of it if you want me to email it to you. It was on a Zetec, though. Yours a Zetec?

I just had Midas put on a 2.5 cat back that they made for me for $200. You gotta get the RIGHT shop though. The first Midas had me call this other one.

I have a 2000 Stique and did the following .
I had the resonator cut out and replaced with a straight through type tubular muffler. It's not a glass pack but a high quality muffler that fits like a glove and even had the right bends and offsets. Then I had them hack off the rear muffler and replace it with a really short (about 12")
low restriction turbo muffler with 2.5" inlet and outlets. I also bought some nice chrome dual tips (2") with resonators built in which peek out from under my bumper. It looks like the way BMW's look with dual tips coming out from under the left bumper.

Even better is is sounds cool. Not too loud. A nice throaty sound that doesn't sound ricey. Car pulls much much better now and had better fuel economy too.

I don't understand using a larger pipe or duals past the Cat. Isn't the Cat the 'main restriction' in the whole system. Only by replacing the Cat (and Cat forward) can you significantly 'free up' the system with anything that is Cat back. Even the flow of the stock system, for most of the RPM range will flow equal to, or better than the stock Cat.

Can't you just hack the Cat and throw in a stright pipe? And wouldn't that sound better?
