Yeah, solder the jumpers down then apply the coating on top of it. To get the old coating off, the repair operators at Ford use a toothbrush and some isopropyl alcohol. Still, it's tough and you had to ask REAL nice to get them to do it.

As far as the chip, anyone with half a brain (maybe not all Ford techs) can tell if you have installed a chip even if it is removed. The tell tale coating removal from the service port gives it away. Some dealers are cool with it, some will flat out deny anything on your car if it's modded.

Just keep the black stock cap and if you go to the dealer, yank the chip and replace the cap. They wouldn't know that it was in there.

you may want to take your car directly to superchips, since you're in florida. they're located somewhere there. they can put your car on the dyno, and with your mods, burn you a custom chip specific to your needs and cars mods.
