"...I wouldn't have no luck at all."

So I'm sitting at a stoplight late last night behind a big 4x4 '01 Dodge Ram, not thinking anything I'm looking around and I look forward just in time to see a pair of reverse lights shining on me and before I can move my hand to the shifter to go backwards the truck had already backed its hitch right through the front of my car. I can't believe this!

The guy was totally cool though and I'm thinking I shouldn't have any problem getting money from the insurance company. We are both with Farmers insurance so maybe that will be beneficial. Right now my only concern is that the car not be totalled and that it is just repaired. While I'd love nothing more than to just get rid of this friggin' walk under a ladder in front of a black cat standing on a broken mirror car, I still owe money on it and I know the depreciation is horrific on these cars. I'd probably end up with just enough to pay off the loan and then what?!

So, if I total the car and a salvage title isn't much I'll keep the 'remains' and part the car out. All you local guys and neighborhing states do me a favor and be on the look out for a car for me. VW, Audi, DSM? are preferred...basically as long as its not a Ford or a Contour.

Sucks to hear about your car. Hope everything turns out ok.
Im dealing with a guy that hit me, too. He was with Farmers, but he was trying to avoid talking to them. Its been over a month, and it just now being taken care of

Hope you have better luck.

At least you didn't bash the Dodge driving rednecks.

Why did he back up anyway? Could have been worse. He could have backed into your airbag sensor and deployed your bags!

Stay away from my car!! But seriously, this sucks! Did this happen here Brad? Hmm, if the damage is only confinded to the bumper (hopefully) then you're all set for an svt bumper. Keep us updated on what happens.

Dang, Brad, it's just one thing after another. You definately can't blame this on the contour, though. You can still say you're having a string of bad luck. Anyway, if you're seriously considering Audi VW, I know a few guys at McDonald Audi/VW in Littleton. Let me know, and I'll see if I can help you out.

Man, I completely feel your pain. Last Thursday in traffic I smacked the back of a minivan. The damage all looks superficial, though. Yesterday, I was pulling out of the garage and just as I was backing past our big trash can (one of the big black ones on wheels) on the curve a gust of wind picked up and blew it right into the side of my car. Now I have scrapes down one of my rear doors.

Something or someone is out to get us.

I wish I could have reacted faster but as soon as I looked forward he was starting to move, there was no time to do anything really. The hitch went through the grill, through the top of the radiator, bent the upper frame piece and broke the center mounts on both head lights. It also tore up the area where the hood latches, this repair ain't gonna be cheap I can tell ya that much. His bumper was about level with my head lights so there was almost no damage to my bumper except for some scrathces. I'll keep you all updated, I'm going to call him and the insurance here in a bit and see about getting a rental car.

James, this happened after I got to Denver last night and went out to the post office around 11:30 or 12. I was about 3/4 of a mile from my house, his too actually, he lives right by me.

Derek, Is that the VW/Audi place on Broadway south of 285(hampden)?? I figured I'd look there if I have to, thats where I got my sidemarker parts a while back.
