That would be a Cougar rear strut bar!

Andy W. The problem with America is stupidity. I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?

It was 130$ IIRC. Been a while.

BAT has it in their catalogue. I think they're out of stock though.

Close to nothing. Tubing is hollow Al.

I'm sure you do!

Beware if you want one it's not a bolt-in install! Granted the bottom plates do bolt in (using 7 fasteners per side!!) but the top doesn't even come close to fitting. What you see on my car are one-off custom brackets made by a buddy of mine (CEGer too). They are tack-welded to the strut towers.

Hey Pascal, is that the Cougar rear brace? How bad was it to modify for the CSVT?

I've got the SHOshop brace and I did notice a big difference, esp. with my Koni/Eibach combo and sticky tires. It gets rid of some of the vagueness in the rear end on high speed sweepers.
The stock hardware(8 self tapping screws ) sucked so I had a buddy of mine weld it in. Now there are no more problems.

The end plates mimic the "wings" on the Cougar.

Jeff built that stuff for me.. We installed the bottom brackets first, then built the bar "up" so we could see where the end plates would have to be. Then Jeff cut the square pieces to size and bolted them to the bar. He tack-welded them to some flat pieces that we taped on the strut towers, and then built a brace for the back that he also tack-welded to those pieces.

We unbolted the brackets and Jeff seam-welded everythying, then I ground them, primed and painted them. When view the brackets from the top they have a triangular shape. Once we bolted everything back on the bar, Jeff tack-welded the brackets to the strut towers and we left it like that.

Does this help?
