The silver box is the IMRC. It is actuated by the PCM.


No argument, just letting you know what the Ford TSP says.

When I looked up IMRC in the TSP, they show pictures of the lower intake manifold. They even have a step in the IMRC removal procedure that associates the IMRC w/ the LIM: "Remove lower intake manifold (IMRC) from cylinder heads"

It wasn't until I found a section labeled "Electric Actuator and Cable Assembly" that I found a diagram of the silver box w/ the words "Electric Actuator and Cable Assy" next to it.

It seems that they have different terminology in the TSP.
