When I was test driving a new Audi yesterday (2002 A4 1.8T) I parked in a parking lot in a store to do some looking at the Audi...when I hear a typical farting Honda, and this white Civic DX, complete with wheel covers and Type-R Badges parked next to me...(I was way in the back of the lot, checking out the Audi) and I look...his License Plate said "Civic R" now THATS rice!!!!

The math is easy:
Altezzas + Hubcaps _____________________________________________ = RICE (# of non-essential lights* weight of vinyl grahics)^2
Anyone remember functions from Algebra? Rice is against those.

I liked Altezza's when they first came out, Non essential lights=my Audi side marker lights, vinyl graphics=My new www.contour.org stickers.........Whew, I don't have hubcaps, I have rims...I got pretty worried there for a second or two.

Side-marker lights are essential, because: 1. Safety when merging 2. I have them Contour.org sticker is okay, since you have a Contour and this is a .org. Can't help you on your former love of altezzas though.

Hmmm... close. Rice is taking a slow/boring/cheap/honda car and modifying it to look fast but doing nothing to really improve performance, and often hindering it. Rice is also taking a slow/boring/cheap/honda car and performing an aethestic mod but half assing it in such a way that it looks worse than when you started. For example the mid 90s bright blue accord I saw today with a aftermarket front air dam that they just screwed on and left completely painted white. If the body kit is painted the same as the rest of the car then it is invariably smashed in or otherwise damaged. Even worse are the people who want an agressive looking but slow car with a pointless over the top body kit but couldn't put one on themselves. They buy Pontiacs.

One would say badging up your car with a totally different car's emblems is in violation of the "rice" agreements. Personally, i get a chuckle seeing a 4 door EX Civic w/ SI & VTEC badges on it. Or worse, I remember going to Moroso to find an SE Contour w/ Skyline GT-R badges on it. Wow.
Yup, just like a guy I work with. He has a stock GT Mustang with Nissan GTR emblems on the front fenders where it used to say "GT" And a SVT emblem on the back.

Rice doesn't have to be an import by any means.
Take for example the 98-00 Pontiac Sunfire I saw a few weeks ago that had a 14-16" tall windshield banner that said "SVT"
I'd consider a 74 Nova 4dr with no exhaust and racing stickers plastered all over the windows yet the stock I-6 under the hood a form of Rice...
We've all seen many cases of this form of Rice disease in our lifetime... We just called it by other names (insert expletive deleted here) before the term Rice became the term to call it by...
