What kind of cups do you put in there!? My problem with theh cup holders is that they are too damn big and if I take a turn at anything over .02 mph I have to catch my drink before it hits the floor and spills all over the place. I've learned to drive with one hand on the wheel and onehand on whatevers in the cup holder to prevent it from spilling. Taking out the rubber would only make the problem worse!

no it doesn't make it worse..all you have to do is try it pull it out,and you'll see what i mean...the hole underneath the rubber is deeper, and it gets skinnier also...it is wide and then it gets narrow at the bottom...the narrow part is about the width of a can,and it holds cans and just about any kind of fast food cups, particularly the tapered cups, the shape underneath is the same shape as the tapered cups..but don't take my word for it,take the 2 seconds it takes to pull it out and you'll see what i mean..you don't know until you look at it..all it takes is a second to pull it out...but go ahead and waste your money on after market solutions, because you are too hardheaded to spend 2 secs. pulling out the rubber and looking at it...i'm just trying to give some free advice here, its simple and its free, and i haven't spilled a drink yet since removing it...

I fixed the problem. I bought a center console from a 1995 counter, and now have no cup holders !!!!!!!!!! But I have an ashtray, and a little space for all of my little junk. Now if I could just figure out how to remove the armrest from the seat since the pre-98's armrest is connected to the center console.

Im not spending any money on anything cause i rarely have food in my car, and if i do i'm just taking it home...I do intend on getting a pre98 console but it has nothing do to with cupholders. Since when does asking a question make you hardheaded ?

Hey if you do get the pre 98 console make sure you get the piece that goes where the console meets the radio trim and the trim around the radio. If you take one out yourself from the junkyard you'll see what I mean.

i didn't mean anything personally by hard headed...its just you said it would be worse worse without looking at it removed, and trying it...i had the same problem, with flying cups,i just tried pulling out the insert, and it works, and its free...i just thought i'd pass along the info, because i read alot of complaints about the 98+ cup holders...just wanted to pass on some free advice is all..don't think many people have tried this is all...i didn't mean anything personal......

Last I heard, Bill was back East dealing with some family problems. I have parts on order with Sentry (for that reason), and the verdict is out on if I'll be buying from them again (but not really looking good).

Everything would already be here by now if all the parts I wanted were ordered when I called the first time. OR, half the order would have shipped if I hadn't called the day the part arrived and was told (by someone else) that all the parts I needed weren't on my order. That would have added at least 3 days (transit time) to discovering the error and getting the rest of the parts ordered. Add to that Terry telling me he did order the parts, which I know to be untrue. Two weeks and counting now. I would have cancelled the order already if it weren't for the discount.

Just my experience; your milage may vary.
