Do you know the OPERATING TEMPERATURE of an MTX-75 ?

I don't think the PLASTIC hoses would survive the heat.
Besides, if the hoses are made from HP Brake Line,
they can be bent CLOSER to the transmission body and then,
take up less room than the plastic hoses.
Since they are all stationary when installed,
there is no worry
about them bending or flexing while the MTX-75 is in use.

HP Brake Line is the way to go.
Terry should contact Continental-Teves about the Brake lines used in our ABS systems.
They should be more than strong enough.

Is the beige boxy object on the top of the gearbox the "shifter tower" I see mentioned all the time ? or is the shifter tower the structure that holds the shifter itself in place in the car.

Yours in ignorance... Mark

That beige box is not the shifter tower per se, but yes, it is part of it. Really that beige piece is a just a vanity/safety cover that sits over the shifter tower mechanism.

If you look beneath that beige box in the pic, you will see a gold-colored (plated) steel piece that is bolted to the aluminum tranny case...that is the shifter tower. So you were close smile

Because i figured plastic hoses would eventually split or break from the heat and pressure, I couldn't see using plastic hoses for tranny fluid when every tranny line is aluminum, i mean maybe in a pinch you could use plastic or if your doing a tranny job and don't like the customer you would give him plastic hoses and say yeah they'll hold up to pressure NO PROBLEM they'll never break

I would think that plastic would break or leak also. Didn't somebody blow hoses on there way back from Spring Zing? Wasn't that the Bulldog tranny??
