Lately, I have been experiencing a "rough ride" (felt especially in the steering wheel) when I get up to about 70mph on the highway. After inspection, I found that my driver side, front ball joint was shot. So I had that replaced today. Would I need an alignment after doing such work? The mechanic said that since these pieces were mounted "static", they shouldn't affect the alignment. This same scenario held true about 3 months ago when I had my front coil springs replaced. Should an alignment have been done then? My last alignment before all of this work was last January.
I don't think the rumble can be attributed to any engine/transmission problems as I still experience the rough ride when coasting at 70mph. I have new endlinks all the way around the car, and brand new rear rotors/pads (went in last week), and new front coil springs.

After a ball joint, No. After front springs, yes! There isn't much they can do but they can try!

Andy W. The problem with America is stupidity. I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?
