Hey guys minor problem maybe someone can shed some light on. The horn and cruise control don't work and the airbag light flashes continuously while I drive. It must be something electrical is disconnected, could this be right? TIA

Sounds like you need to replace the clockspring. What code does the airbag light flash?

The airbag light on the dash is flashing, its yellow, looks like a sprung airbag with a guy in a seatbelt. The mechanic said he didn't know what to make of it. He said the horn is loose and it could be that a connection is not making contact and that's why the horn and cruise control don't work. What's a clockspring?

Check the connector at the cruise control(open hood drivers side up against fire wall)I knocked mine loose one time and caused te same problems. A clock spring Is a spring(much like a measuring tape)that can wind and unwind as the steering wheel goes round and round left to right. And it has contacts on it for the things you say arent working.Good possibility!

The airbag light is flashing a code. For instance: flash-flash-flash-flash pause flash-flash-flash-flash-flash
is a 4-5 The sequence repeats.
If you tell us what code you are getting, we can provide more specific info.

 Wow. It flashes:
flash-flash
pause
flash-flash
It always flashes like that, 2 then 2
Thanks!

If the horn and the cruise control both don't work, still sounds like the clockspring.
AL
An airbag 3-2 is: Driver air bag Module Circuit High Resistance or Open
Normal Operation
The air bag diagnostic monitor measures the resistance across pin C20b - 10, circuit 31S - MA8 (BK/OG) and pin C20b - 11, circuit 8 - MA18 (WH/BU) every time the ignition switch is turn to the ON position. Normal resistance across these circuits is between 1.5 ohms and 2.0 ohms. This resistance comes from the air bag itself (approximately 1.0 ohm) and the air bag sliding contact windings (approximately 0.25 ohms to 0.5 ohms per winding, two windings in all). If the resistance across these two circuits exceeds 4.0 ohms, the air bag diagnostic monitor will flash diagnostic trouble code (DTC) 32.
Possible Causes
CAUTION: The driver air bag module connector, air bag diagnostic monitor harness connector and the air bag sliding contact connector have metal spring clips that act as shorting bars. These shorting bars are built into the plastic hard shell connectors. The shorting bars are designed to short 29S - MA8 (OG) and 31S - MA8 (BK/OG) together when the connectors are not mated. Do not attempt to remove the air bag shorting bar and measure the resistance of the air bag.
Excessive resistance across air bag diagnostic monitor pins C20b - 10, circuit 31S - MA8 (BK/OG) and C20b - 11, circuit 8 - MA18 (WH/BU) can be caused by:
1. A poor connection where the air bag sliding contact connections into the main wiring harness. The air bag sliding contact connector at the base of the steering column may have excessive resistance between the male and female terminals in the connector.
2. An open circuit or high resistance in the air bag sliding contact windings inside the air bag sliding contact.
3. An open circuit or high resistance in the wiring harness in either circuit 31S - MA8 (BK/OG) or circuit 8 - MA18 (WH/BU).
4. An open circuit or high resistance in the driver air bag module. DO NOT attempt a direct resistance measurement of the air bag. Follow the diagnostic procedures to determine if the air bag resistance is higher than normal.

You are the first person I have ever heard diagnose this concern properly... Good Job... I will lay money on it that is the failure.. When I was writing service for ford this was a common concern for Contours... Pretty easy job.. Just make sure you disconnect the battery before messing with the air bag.. That could get messy and expensive pretty easily... Good Luck...
