i thought the Z vin cars were the zetecs that run on natural gas???

The Z engine code is the bi-fuel (i.e., can run on both natural gas and gasoline) Zetec. Dunno if its SOHC or DOHC, but I'd guess DOHC, or it really wouldn't be a Zetec anymore.

I've seen two of those natural gas Tours, and under the hood I saw no differences except the fuel rail. I think it's still DOHC. In fact, I have a couple of pictures of the engine bay of a natural gas Tour, from a year ago in Seattle (which uses these cars in its city government fleet, I think):   I also saw an electric Ranger pickup there.

ok so whats the difference between a focus and contours engine? I thought they were both the same?.. If they are .. why are they faster ?

there are MANY differences.... why is the focus faster well it is lighter. throttle body, intake manifod, exaust manifold, airbox, there are also internal differences too...

I believe it's called the SPI.
