I have what I think is a good idea for a cold air intake setup, but would like some help developing it, as I am not sure how to get parts and such.
I will describe, and see what you guys think!
OK, replace the rubber hose thing from the UIM to the MAF with a pipe. MOVE the MAF to the fender, bolting the MAF THROUGH the fender, with an air filter adapter attached to the other side of the fender. The part I am having trouble with is the pipe from where the MAF used to be, to where the MAF is now. It think it would have to be solid, but with at least one flex point to allow for engine movement.
My second concern is finding an air filter that will fit in the fender, and them from there it should be fairly easy to route a semi-ram type setup up from the front bumper area.
Just as a side note, the MAF works better the farther away form the engine it is, so this may add more than just cold air improvement to the engine, but just slightly, I dont expect any serious power gain, but I think this is a great way to ensure you are getting plenty of cold air!
Let me know what you guys think!
