With my lead foot around town, I don't even make 20mpg. But after driving cars with 4 cylinders all the years I did and the car I replaced with the Contour 4 years ago was a 15 year old Chevette with a dying 85 hp (I think) engine, I still enjoy the feeling of driving a car with a bit of power. I do get 27+ when I behave myself on long freeway trips.
