When I put on the MSDS headers I also replaced the stock resinator with a Thrash Turbo Tube.
After one week it isn't annoying me as much as when I first heard it. It is raspy, tinny and loud but has a great small block back-down note, not a big consolation.
If you want my two cents worth, I have a lot of mods on my car. With the exception of the Quaife TBD nothing has added any noticable (using the gut gage, or seat of the pants if you want to call it that) gains.
I have the 75mm mass air flow sensor and the full open JR air cleaner along with my MSDS. Again, I just don't believe there's any noticable gain, if any at all for the $1,800+ "air in - air out" investment.
My basis for the "gut gage" for those who want to know where I'm coming from or will have a difference of opinion...I owned an 86 Mustang GT 5.0 new, my nephew bought the same car new one year later a 87. Both cars had the same trans and rear ratios. The 87 came with 25 (10%) more HP. 200 vs 225. Long story short - I drove both cars and 25 HP gain on a 200 HP engine is a world of difference.
I've noticed no difference by adding the headers and related items to the Duretec.
