There are universal DRL kits available that will convert virtually anything to DRL. They are more expensive and require more effort to install though. Ford used to have them in their accessory catalog. They may still have them, but I have not looked lately.[/b]The universal kits from Ford/GM (they're actually the same kit, made by a company called Pacific Insight Electronics in British Columbia)run the low beam at 80% rather than the high beam at 50%. BUT, the unlike the OEM factory DRL, the aftermarket systems can be disabled with the parking brake. An odd omission in the Contiques OEM DRL system.
Installation is pretty simple. I've installed the AC/Delco (GM) kit in three cars. If you've ever installed foglamps or a stereo system, you can install the DRL system yourself.

Installation of the GM kit at a GM dealer ran about $75.
