i'm sorry cool blue but did you read every post????alot of people were bashing it,not just me,maybe you should read again....i told you i was gonna stop bashing your car,which i did, to each his own...but stop trying to bash contours on a contour website...it only makes you look foolish....i quit bashing it a long time ago....i was only kidding anyway,you take things way too seriously(i don't like the car still,but like i said to each his own)but you shouldn't brag about paying so much for a car,that as you would call it "cheap" car like my svt will outperform it in every catagory there is,and look better in the process..that might be hard for you to accept,but its a simple fact,sure it may have more options,but who really cares???again i'm not bashing it,i'm just stating the facts...but if you like it that is all that matters,but just don't come on here trying to compare it to an svt,because it simply doesn't compare,and that my friend is a simple fact...but if you like it ,then by all means enjoy it....

Aus, it's AWD. When it detects the front wheels slipping, it send power to the rear wheels. Although there's a button in the center console that locks the center differential so it guarantees that atleast one front wheel and one rear wheel grip. Also, Id like to set a few things straight. Someone asked me to post a few pix of my S/E, which I did. It surprised alot of you because expected a normal 6000. but alot of you said yourselves that it was a nice car, and I thank you for that. However, When that other retard said it had no high points, and all low points, that's when I was pissed. I'm not one who tollerates someone dissing my car. My cars are like my children, I like them both equally. They both have faults (6000 has CRAPPY gas milage, Mystique has CRAPPY build quality). Id like to know what you would do if 30 people said your Contour was a POS, which Im sure 99% of Contour owners have had that happen. Why? Because people dont know much about the Contour. Well, that's exactly like what you are doing to me. You dont know anything about the car, so how do you think that you have any reason to talk? And that picture of a BASE 6000 with the caption "lean mean driving machine"...what do you think a 120hp Contour GL is? I'd just like to make you guys think about what you have done, and maybe you'll realize that you're getting mad at me for acting immature, when in reality, its YOU that are immature. You are talking about a car that you know nothing about, much like when people talk about Contours.

Dude, WTF you bash your mystique in just about every post I read from you!

As a point of note on Ford's and high milage, my dad's 99 E-250 van, with a V-6 currently has over 365,000 miles, with no major problems. So yes, Ford's can last.

I know exactly how that is. My dad used to run Ari Freight across the country in a '95 E-150 Cargo Van, with a 4.9 straight 6. He just recently sold it for like $1,000. He had close to 600,000 miles on it. He went thru altenators like mad tho(I hate Advanced Auto Parts!), one rear end, and repolace the oul pump for the hell of it, oh yeah and add a fuel pump to the list.

So fords are built very well.

Unfortunately tho, Ford quit building the 4.9 straight 6 because it lasted so long.

My dad's last van was the 4.9 inline, good engine, though i seem to remember something about oil pan gasket failures. This is the V6, I think it's like a 4.6 or somehting, not too sure. I'd appologize for the pointless post, but this whole thread seems to be getting totally pointless.

Ahem...
In reply to:

you may have an SVT, but an SVT Contour would be like a Metro SS

{{clears throat again}}
In reply to:

Alright, a SVT Contour is like a Rousche (sp?) Metro.

In reply to:

I'd like to see how much a Contour is worth when it gets to be 12 years old with 180-some thousand miles Oh yeah, forgot, Fords dont last 180K miles Looks like everyone who owns a CDW27 car "Spent too much on a car that will someday be worthless" Remember, a closed mouth gathers no foot

...Maybe you should practice what you preach
