I'm looking to replace the springs and struts in my 99 se v-6 MTX in a couple of weeks and have been calling around for prices on labor, including a mechanic that i have been going to for years and I have been amazed at how much they are trying to charge! Is there anyone in the NE area that is mechanically inclined and posesses the right tools to do this work and is looking to make some money? I am somewhat mechanically inclined and a quick learner and I'm sure I can be of assistance in doing the work I just don't want to pay 300 bucks labor when it seems like it shouldn't be that difficult. Also, I would be much more comfortable having someone who is familiar with our cars doing the work on it. Lastly, if anyone can recommend any garages where you have had work done cheap it would be appreciated. I'm also looking to put in a DMD since you guys seem to be in love with them and it is a cheap part.

i am sure jay will respond to this at some point tonight.
he has done 3 suspension installs IIRC.
and i think he is up to about 12 DMD's.

a little off topic... elky...nice post count! hehehe  just ask baco99 about doing a suspension install......at the end of my driveway - on the street with parts breaking all over the place!

I work in the shop with my friend who is a mechanic, he said he would do it for $160, just let me know. I got good experience with my Tour 98SE MTX, was not too bad.

haven't driven the tour yet......but i am forced to tomorow..
the van decided to blow a blood vessel tonight on the highway..and spew antifreeze all over my driveway...
it amazed me though..i drove for about 6 miles on the highway at 75mph smelling intifreeze and never once really got warm until i got in my driveway....
the [censored] that happens to me man..its no fun...i just cant win...
and as for the hand..its okee dokee!

$160 for Front and Rear? I'm looking to redo my springs and struts too. That's the cheapest I've heard yet!
