Without the screen, the KKM is worth 5 hp. Still a performance upgrade, not a detriment. With the screen, it's worth 7 hp. More gooder.
The screen is there to help the MAF accurately take measurments of the airflow. More accurate = more power, when compared to less accurate. Hmmmmm.... That's the first time I've ever heard of a specific purpose for that screen. I might actually have to put it in now.
