Umm no your wrong. The Mondeos have a completely different Fender. The hole is for placement of Emblems on the Assembly line.

If you are serious about switching it out, lemme know Stevers... I am seriously contemplating this idea... Actually have been for the past year.

What's different about ConTique and Mondeo front fenders? And why would you need a hole for the emblem? Cant Ford even remember where those are supposed to go??

Once you study the side pictures of a Mondeo and a Contour, you'll notice that there is a distinct difference between the two. Mondeos have a subtle flare just above the rocker area(similar to a Taurus), while Contours have a sharp crease. The fenders also seem to be slightly different around the headlight area. I really don't think there are any shared panels between Mondeos and Contours. Much of their similarity seems to lie in the chassis.
