I previously tested the Autolites and they work admirably, I then installed the Denso Iridiums and if anyone thinks a plug can't make a performance difference, welcome to the 21st century, pk up the Denso's, test'em as I did and you'll see exactly what I mean buy a definate increase in throttle response and topend performance. As RPM's increase so does the demand for spark and the Iridiums perform beyond most expectations when in demand. Now my test of the Denso's were also to see how long they would last and it's starting to be apparent that the Ground Electrode is starting to not hold up to the abuse anymore. I'll be installing the NGK Premium Double Plats this week and I'll be able to provide more info in the future. With much more Platinum these plugs will easily out last the Autolite Double Plats two times over, it really just boils down to how fat your wallat is. As a side note there are a number of added features in the NGK Premium plugs that make them a very good choice. Though Autozone may not sell'em you can surely get the NGK DP through me, I can get pretty much any of the hardest to find street or racing plugs to spark the face of this earth

Easy Peasy to change (yeah..it annoys me too!)
Just unbolt the cover/electrical box on the front...change as usual. On the back, unbolt the coil..push back...and use an 8" extension and change as usual. Should take no longer than 45 minutes. just make sure you pull with both hands, and don't pull on the wire..pull on the boot.

They are just Autolite double platinums with a coating that makes it unnecessary to use anti-sieze compound on the threads. I don't feel that it is really much of a benefit. I must admit that this is what I have in my car at this time, but it was because of rebates that made them less expensive than the normal double plats.

Micah- What part number are you using for NGK Double Platinums?
NGK does not list any double platinum (or irridium) plugs for the Duratec.
This is the main reason I would not recommend NGK's to anyone with the Duratec. (Nitrous users excluded)
As for their quality otherwise. Top notch.
My recommendation is Autolite APP764 or Motorcraft AWSF32PP.
For those Forced Induction, 3L Hybrid & chipped folks I recommend AWSF22FS plugs. There may be an Autolite equivalent???

Greg (D-man) that's the great part of having elite access to the hardest to find spark plugs around. We're able to do cross matching of part numbers to find another part that may not be on the list. In many cases NGK, Denso don't provide everything and so the need for crossmatching. Trust me we do it all the time!!! I know of a few here on the boards who are using this part# PTR5C-13 and have given much praise to these plugs, as I know you could agree. Greg maybe it's time for you to get a new set of plugs, email me... By the way LONG Time NO Talk!!!! I was just gonna email you to see how's everything Aloha
