I'm considering purchasing a DMD for the car, and as I've heard it's a good investment. But my question is, if I have an engine failure with the DMD installed, would it be possible, or likely that Ford would come back and say, "sorry, your new harmonic balancer voided the engine warranty"? I've got the Ford ESP on it, so if anyone could fill me in, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks.

I'd say with the way Ford can be, yes it will void the warranty. Even though its a Ford (of Europe) OEM part. However, the chances of a Ford mechanic noticing you put on a DMD might be rather small. Maybe someone else more knowledgeable can chime in with some better answers.

I bet a local yokel Ford dealer that stumbled across the DMD could try to "void your warranty". Once you went up the food chain and made people look into the DMD and its application, I seriously doubt a good case could really be made for the DMD causing failures.

It has the same part number and Ford Stamping. I serously doubt any Ford Technician will even notice.

I'm wondering if anyone has had an engine failure with the DMD installed. I would like to start taking right hand sweepers the way they were meant to be taken - FAST. Yes - I use a full 6 qts, of Mobil 1 and I have a DMD (thanks to my buds at NE-CEG).

what you might do is take it to your dealership and have them install it if your worried about your esp.... if you had an engine failture and a cert. ford service dude installed a ford part i think it'd be hell for them to attempt to call you out on it.
