I'm about to change the rear pads on my 99SVT so I thought I'd ask this so I'll know what to look for while I change them.
For quite a long time(1yr or so) my emergency brake has been pretty usless. Meaning it has just about ZERO stopping or holding power. On any slight decline with the brake pulled up as high as it will go(the handle at about a 50degree angle)the car will still roll back. The only thing holding the car is the transmission What could possibly be the problem? Should I be able to just adjust something? I don't really even know how it works. Is the e-brake related to the rear discs or is there a separate unit that brakes? An explanation of that would be helpful as well. I've seen posts about binding and recalls. I don't believe it has anything to do with the recall which I don't think affected 99SVT's? I havn't been able to find anything on "useless" e-brakes so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
