I'd go with the BAT kit as well. I have it on my 99 SE and it rocks. Can't say I know how it compares to stock SVT struts, but it drastically reduced my dive and did a good amount to reduce my body roll, plus it rides rather nice in day to day driving as well. I think overall it lowerd my car by a smidge more than 1", but I took no measurement so I don't know that for a fact. I'd say it's the best bang for your buck.
