Actually I took the latch off, drilled about 1/4 inch down and then dremeled out between the old hole and new one, to make one big "square". Bad news is that 1/4 inch may not be enough, I still have to push fairly hard on it to make it click the second time. I am going to drill down another 1/8" and check it again maybe Thursday when I have time.
Still having trouble with the front fitment though, even with the latch done the drivers side is about 1/2" above the corner panel, and you can actually barely see inside the engine compartment through the gap. Most likely getting a set of hood pins in the near future.
