The Filter
SVTPete is using is the AFE Full Velocity Stack Universal Filter he purchased through me. The advantage the AFE Filter has over it's competition is it's filtration capacity over a similar K&N, KKM unit. Rather than using the traditional 3layer cotton gauze, AFE uses 4 Layers and thanks to there optimized pleat geometery, this allows for a greater reduction in pressure drop, the change in air flow from outside the filter to the air that enters it. The filter is also designed with a velocity stack which is basically a rounded entry into the airstream rather than an abrupt wall like a KKM, K&N, ect., this feature alone helps to increase airflow as well as reduce turbulence in the airstream. The filter is constructed using engineering grade polyurathane for its ability to not warp, crack and distort over time from heat unlike the competitions Rubber construction.
