Demonsvt,

where did you hear about the improvers in the amsoil and not the mobil?

I ask, because everytime I compared specs, amsoil was always slightly superior to mobil1 (flash point, VI etc.)

I always thought amsoil was superior to mobil1, yet I buy mobil1 (price difference...)

BTW, it is my understanding that amsoil came out with the 7500 oil to increase their presence in the quick lube shops and to satisfy people still on warranty. The two oils (7500 and standard) are probably very similar...*cough*marketing gimmick...*cough*

They have a few kickass products I love (100:1 two stroke oil, racing grease, 2 stage oiled foam filters)

I think the oil filter placement is the running "joke" among car manufacturers. They just throw it in as and afterthought sometimes. I used to work on planes that the wiring was the same way. "Oh, you need wires to go with your radar? Sheeeet, I can rig sumthin."

No kit, but check out www.racerpartswholesale.com
They have the parts necessary to "roll your own". One thing though, if you have an SVT, you will have to replace the oil filter boss with one from a standard Duratec V-6. The spin on adapters won't fit on the SVT's oil cooler boss. I had to install remote filtr to clear the MSDS vortech spec headers, and got my parts from the above people. Mounted the remote filter just behind the A/C accumulator under the battery. I believe Terry Haines has modified SVT oil filter bosses that will allow the relocating of the oil cooler to the new location. I installed a Tru-Cool air to oil cooler with an oil-stat.
