If I get the BAT upgrade to 278mm rotors, Mintex 44 pads and stainless brake hoses, is it going to make a difference? It is only 18mm. Is it worth the money for a dailey driver?

I have the A/F pads with everything else you describe. Made a difference.

However, most people greatly underestimate what just a pad upgrade can do.

I recommend going to the larger rotors, however. The stock ones on non-SVT's are just too small for the car.

The SVT sized rotors + 1144 pads have proven at the track that your brake fluid can boil before you experience fade from the pads

Better pads will give you the biggest results.

I have the exact setup you describe. It made a fantastic improvement to the braking ablility of the car. And lance is right. On a trip to The Tail of The Dragon last October, I cooked the fluid LONG before the 1144 pads showed signs of fade. (Mmmm...brings back memories of the smell of hot brakes, and the blued steel of overheated rotors...man, I want to go back!!!)

As much as Lance is going to hate me for this comment, I love my KVR Carbon Fibre's all around. I have slotted and cross drilled up front and standards on the back. I also switched to ATE Superblue, which for the price, is the best brake fluid you can buy. Brake feel is unreal. i only wish I had stainless steel lines!

I hate you LOL!

I had KVR carbon fibre, didn't like them at all.

They suck in the rain (try 1-2 seconds before they grab on the freeway) and had them fade badly at the track.

Just my humble opinion.

Lance,
I'm glad to see the feeling is mutual! LOL!

I haven't experienced any of the problems you mentioned. Did you happen to change your brake fluid at that time. I just changed from SynPower to ATE and the ATE makes a huge difference. The carbon fibre's run hotter and the boiling point of ATE matches up much better!

I'd like to think that I can be considered for this project. While priced a bit more than the BAT kits, I believe I offer a few more options and such that are not available elsewhere.

Give us a package price for pads, rotors, and stainles steel brakes lines and maybe something can be worked out. I suggest SP Motor Sports over BAT because Joe is a good guy! Not saying you are a bad guy Todd. I've just been dealing with him for a while and he is local to me!
