Won't have my SVT back for the weekend - will be a little longer in the paint shop than expected.
I'll be there anyway.

Yes, you can look at the car... I have to insist no photos... bring your kleenex too....
Phil: if you are out of town this weekend, don't worry. There will be PLENTY more meets to come.
Harry: bummer your car won't be there, but that's the price I suppose for a job well done. Driving to Ottawa in an Escort rental is gonna suck...

Let's get a list of those confirmed. Sunday at noon (if not raining) - Giant Tiger men's business/casual section - or you can wait for me in the parking lot.

Wish I could make it too. Stuck in Toronto visiting the wife, and such.
Harry, am I going to recognise your clapped out Contour the next time I see it??
I DID do something to your Dad's old ride, though...
Threw in a Ford Motorsports air filter and 9mm Ford Racing plug wires in blue. Those are my "mods".
Keepin' it simple, keepin' it stock, until parts wear out and require, um, dedicated aftermarket replacement.

Last weekend we put in new H&R springs which reduces the wheel gap in the front substantially and improves handling characteristics over the tired stock springs. Installing a KKM intake next week as well as a rear stru tower brace to stiffen the car up. CW is also doing the brace.
Other than that, I have a new paint job on all horizontal surfaces as of today.
Yeah, you'll recognize it, if we ever meet up!

Indeed, I would have thought to have had the opportunity to schlep myself to Montreal to pay you and the wife a visit by now.
In action, however, it's sadly been the same old song...
Someday, I figure I'll have to start clapping out the SVT as well.
Don't really have that much cash money to plow into upgrades or repairs, though, nothing seems to want to fail yet on the car.
It still pulls like a runaway chainsaw thru all 5 gears, and no grinding! Tracks straight, stops on a dime.
I am however budgeting about a thousand bucks to redo the suspension by mid summer. Probably need struts and springs too.
Any ideas on a good strut and spring combo? I was thinking BAT from CTA Motorsports. The Euro handling package sounds appealing.

I'm not much of an expert, but read alot of the Suspension Forum. Mangler from MTL has the BAT kit and I drove it the other day. It seems to be a well matched kit. My personal favorite though is the H&R spring stance matched with the Koni struts. I couldn't afford the Konis and have two brand new SVT struts in the rear so I should be okay for a bit. I think the only disadvantage of the stock SVT struts is poor longevity. You should check your struts for leakage. I was in for a parking brake issue and they told me that one was leaking and the other was completely empty. Replaced under warranty.

Thanks for the tip, Harry.
Next oil change I'll have Campbell's check the struts and springs.
