Got the almighty bulletproof custom skidplate on the truck this weekend. The Exploder/Mountaineer is notorious for having a wide-open-from-underneath engine bay. 3/16" steel plate across the whole thing ought to keep the nasties out.

Many a sob story about punctured radiators/hoses, thrown belts, etc. have come pass because of that gaping maw under the hood. I don't think I'll be having that kind of issue on my next trip to the Rockies!

Anyone ever try putting a Bullitt fuel door on an Explorer? It looks like it ought to work, but I'm reluctant to plunk down a C-note for an experiment. Anyone?
