First, I'd like an idea of the cost for this part, and maybe even the necessary brackets. I`d really like to retrofit it to my car...
Anyone have one in hand? I'm wondering what the hole size and hole to hole dimensions are?
Is this as harsh as a gas shock absorber? Softer? What is the approximate cartridge dimension?
The engine roll is getting pretty old on my car, and I would like to avoid filling the rear mount with urethane, to prevent undue vibrations.
TIA

On the Performance Fords website, it looks like we SE owners might be in luck for a torque brace to place on the engine to help vibration.
Try calling them for a price and ETA.

Marco, you can have mine if you want.. leaking oil and all..
I need a replacement and I think it was a LOT more expensive than Performance Ford's kit last time I checked... When I have some extra $$ I'm getting the Perf. unit..

I had the SMA torque Brace. Solid piece of metal that replaced the Stab-o-Shoc. I didn't really see any benefit to it, other than inducing more NVH in the pedals. Oh yeah, with 1.5yrs on it, its about to break. the OE part has been reinstalled and the annoying harshness is gone. I say go Stab-O-Shoc, plus, the rigidity puts an extra load on the rest of the roll restrictors.

Yes, I am a bit weary of trying a solid mount solution... Anyone ever hold the stock stab-o-shock in their hands? I`d like to have an idea of the length and damping this thing has...Who says you can`t replace it with an el cheapo gabriel strut from a small car? Pending the length issue, of course...
