did anyone do this or attempted to install the Vortech Supercharger on a duratec with the retrunless fuel system. I know its possible but i would like to know what kind of problems to expect and how to fix them. Someone must of tried to do this or is thinking about it.

You will probably have a different PCM than what the 98+'s have, but if it's a superchip reprogram thing they do with the kit I don't see why they couldn't work with it. Your best bet is probably just to call them up and ask them.

I think you are wrong the 95-97 duratecs have the returnless system, if my 95 had the returnless fuel system I would have the S/C in my car right now. The problem I'm having is finding a shop that will program the superchip, I wrote Vortech about 50 times and I'm still waiting for a reply. I tried calling couple of times and i was on hold for almost an hour so i hanged up.

(But, I'd reccomend you go pop the hood and count the number of fuel lines coming off your fuel rail!)

My 95 and every 95 I've seen is a return system.
The only reason (that I can see) that Vortech does not have an application for the 95 is the whole chip programing thing. EEC-IV vs. EEC-V is the main difference between the 95 and 96+ cars. If you can get someone else to program the chip for you (needs fuel and timing adjustments) then it should work. I've thought about it as a Vortech is alot cheaper than a turbo system.

Maybe you are right, I'm not going to check under the hood, because this isn't helping. I need to what problems other than the fuel management unit installation and chip programing I will face and how do i get around that?

Where is the Edmonton crowd, I need help finding a local shop to tune the superchip. If I get the chip programmed, this means you guys can get a copy of it and run the supercharger on your 95 Contours too.

The 95's have return fuel systems, but use ODB-I and therefore a custom tuned chip must be obtained. That would be the largest hurdle.

damn i wish i had read this post before.. if your only issue is fuel control and timing that is easily taken care of and im not sure what the big deal is, a freind of mine owns a shop and is a official superchips dealer (can program them on site) in sherwood park, and another bud of mine in red deer is the main western Canada distributor for diablo sport chips thats if you really want a chip, if i was going to spend $4000+ dollars i wouldent want to tune something like a S/C with a chip, my suggestion would be to get a Apex-i SAFC for fuel and MSD DIS 4 to retard timing, also i would suggest upgrading to 19 or 24LB injectors (ebay) for the parts + installation of them it will be around 700-1000, but that gives you FULL tunability as opposed to what a chip offers (poo on chips) or, there may be an even better way to tune it (check your PMs) but if you want to stick with a chip i can get it programmed for you no problem go ahead and get the S/C man, itl work on your car
