Chris,

One of our options for engine management is a standalone computer. Made by Ford. wink wink

When that option comes to light, I think a few people will be suprised.

Are you doing this as prototype? I'd like to explore all the options especially since Toronto is so close to my home.

My SVT is somewhat of a guinea pig, but this venture is primarily because I want a turbo kit ASAP, heh like 6 to 8 weeks at best. It will be up to the shop to decide whether they would like to build more, I just want mine. smile This will only become a reality for me if the overall price stays within the budget that I have set for myself. Otherwise, I will have to choose either another alternative or reduce the options that I would like in the package.

Got a phone call from the shop about doing my SVT, and they were told by their "FORD" source that the ECU is tied in with the gauge cluster. This means that to run a stand alone computer, the gauges would no longer function, without major mods and the other things such as the TC and ABS would cease to function too, again, without major mods. Whether this is correct or not, I don't think I want to take it that far. Alternative, stock computer and injectors for now with the usual necessities, such as a FMU, piggy back computer or chip, etc. Ah well, it will bring down the cost considerably but it would have been nice to run it stand alone. In the end, this may be a more feasible route as it will be reverible, if I ever decided I to take it all out.
Uhhh, that's not going to happen. wink
