searched, but couldn't find straight yes or no answers.

will the up and coming turbo for the v6 work on a 95 contour?

when it comes time to smog (california), is there a way to easily remove the visible components, and keep it running decent, to maintain smogablility?

Sure, depending on the "health" of both the engine and transmission. You might be looking at a complete rebuild of both.

Not sure about removing parts. You might be able to put a small elbow in place of the turbo for the exhuast. Remove the intercooler and put your stock intake back on. Reprogram the piggyback computer for N/A. Then, pray the SMOG people don't see your missing pre-cats.

cool. so it is possible if my engine and transmission are up to it.

finding a blind smog guy is probably the hardest part.

[RANT] why does the government give a **** about what's under my hood!? who cares as long as what is coming out is clean, there isn?t any environmental issues, and i drive safely. doesn't stifling creativity just end up hurting progress in the long run?

why don't ideas like this ever make it into new laws:
"...you are free to modify your drive train as much as you like as long as there are no environmental issues, but your emissions must test LOWER than stock..."

could you imagine the immediate advancements in emissions technology, as well as the new markets it would create? [/RANT]

i would have no problem moving to another state so i could have a turbo........if only i could convince my wife.

Most smog places here in California will notice and will fail you. You can pay off a smog guy for about $300, and then you will be passed. Just don't try to pay off some random smog guy, find one who is well known smile
