how much power would a 1.5 cu/ft "refrigeration" unit draw? think i could hook up a second battery to run it? and then recharge the batter when the car is not at WOT/hard runs with some sort of switch... what do u guys think?

nooo.. i don't want it for WOT/hard runs... i want to use it to "enclose" my intercooler reservoir... i am thinking if i can keep the liquid at like 20 deg F it should stay pretty cool for 1/4 mile runs and then i can kick the fridge back on inbetween runs, alot better then "icing" the intake or pouring ice into the reservoir or a spillover... any thoughts?

The best method to do that would be to install a nos kit and run the output line in a coil form inside the tank for a quick blast of cool!

Please take everything I post with an MDOT trucks worth of road salt! smile

i don't see what is soo bad about that idea... explain... cools the liquid while the car is waiting in the staging lanes, then i can kill that fridge when i am ready to run.

i don't think the cooling effect would last very long with that method. i would end up having to "blast" my i/c thru the entire run...
