Brad & others,
Calling Vortech will not help you at this time. Only 2 or 3 people know whats going on w/ this at Vortech.
The dry start is also not a concern unless the feed line is installed without a "loop." (another detail left out of their instructions)
All I can/will say publically is that I have new parts on the way to try out. The new parts and changes were a direct result of spending approx 10 hours on the phone (over many phone calls) with Vortech and MANY emails & phone conversations with Terry Haines.
To be quite honest we are not sure if the changes will work so I don't want to give anyone any false hopes! Be patient and give us a chance to make the changes and put some miles on the revised pieces so we know whether or not they work!
The Shafts...
The shafts that were first sold were not heat treated properly and were made of an incorrect grade steel. After a few failures they started investigating and found the problem. They trashed their remaining stock of shafts and went with a totally different company to make the shafts. Since the change there hasn't been a single failure involving one of the new shafts.
