I maintain that you know a very small amount of the people with these SCs. I also am aware there was some original problems with metallurgy. But, as I have the improved shaft and a properly installed oil return line, I think my chances are quite good. The GM of Vortech Engineering is running the same SC, on the same car, and goes to track days frequently. He is doing fine with his.The kit really does suck!
PhatSVT (Sam here in KC) has gone through 4-5 of them in 1 year. 2 of them have been bad directly from Vortech!!! (the last 2 "new units" even) Leaked from the front seals directly after install!
New units, old units, all units have and do fail. No BS about old units metallurgy either. (Nice to know they have more quality control problems :p )
Does Vortech pay for labor charged for any of this either? Even the ones they shipped defective? Nope! Just screw the customer!
Make a bad design, ship a bad product, defer the blame!
The Vortech kit is like a half ass project gone bad. If they would just have spent a little time maybe thinking this whole jackshaft idea through they may have figured out a non supported unit is not a good idea. Strengthed or not.
I think anyone would take a small bit a parasitic drag to have a 3 bearing supported shaft vs failure after failure after...
But hey... Outside of constant failure the kit makes outstanding power!
BTW - Do you work for Vortech? Sure sounds like it...
