Bret,

I'm surprised Kenne Bell gave you a quote, all I got from them was no we don't make a kit for the SVT Contour. Have a nice day. This was about 1 month ago.

I've actully thought about buying a head unit from Whipple ind. and go from there.

Okay, I have been pondering this. First of all, wouldn't a M62 be better for the contour application? I think so, and it would be physically smaller. Concievably, we could just toss out the LIM, get rid of the secondaries all together because the blower would provide the low end torque that we needed anyway. A sheetmetal lower intake could be taller than the origional intake, and still accept the upper intake and all the stuff that goes with it (up to a point obviously). I believe it is the power stearing pump in the valley of the motor on the passenger side? That could probably be relocated (I realise this may be a bit awkward, but it could ceratinly work) this has been being done on mustangs for years as well, and it would certainly look quite stock as well. Also, I believe on GM supercharged 3.8's (don't kow about ford ones) the intercooler is incorporated into the blower by running coolant through a radiator type setup to cool the intake charge. I think it could be done as a reasonable undertaking if one had the ambition to do it. Any thoughts???

The Cougar eliminator concept car has its blower mounted very similar to the method Terry describes for the "Profile" concept car.

It's all about balance.

Why wouldn't you use the older 3L intakes off the taurus, they do not have the secondaries and are quite a bit smaller. Upper plenum finished.

MY idea for the OHV 3.0 WOULD work on the Duratec. Listen closely before you get angry. I'll even post a pic to help.

I believe that would solve all problems when used with the 3L Duratec upper plenum. This was pointed out to me after I started designing the OHV S/C ... DOH someone thought of it first! hehe

Not one to keep quiet just cause I have no idea what I am saying :p but for those belt driven types why not just get an electric water pump then you have a nice free pulley to play with. Or is that to much load on the cam?

I think everyone should take a look at this months SCC. Comtech put a roots type SC on an Accord. Runs off the shaft just like the Vortech.

I believe this is what we are talking about here. I dunno anything about the AWD, but an AWD cougar or contour would be sw33t. Too bad we can't get the AWD Mondeo for anything less than the X-type. And Ford/Jaguar in all of their brilliance makes a drag engine for the S-type but screws it up by giving it a crappy auto tranny.

Ford doesn't deserve to continue if their stupidity continues to compare to that which they assume the American market has.

And I would already own a Vortec if it was proven to be a reliable piece of machinery.

Have you put in your $0.02 to save contour.org?? Put in what you can spare to keep the site up. Check the General Forum.
