Bret theres no need to get testy. smile If you own an Eaton then you know it can be mounted just about anywhere. It does not have to be mounted where the battery is or on top of the engine,it can even be mounted upside down if need be. smile

For not being a expert your sure do have a strong opinion and no you didn't say it had to be mounted to the intake: I believe you put it "crack pipe intake". Well are you convinced now.

If you mounted it where the battery goes of course you would have to use a shaft to drive it. However that would be the last place I would mount one, only after I exhausted every other possability would I mount one there. Sorry about the testy coment, I thought you were getting excited when you were using capital letters and several !!!!!!! My mistake, I apologise. smile

I think you should start thinking size.. Find a box about 18x9x12 (aprox size of the m90) and some string (the belt need to run it) and see if you can find a place to get it to fit.

For those that do not know what an m90 looks like..
Eaton m90 page

Also a how guide on the custom m90 build of a laser, includes how to make you own plenum.

The one question I would like to know is how did Ford get it to fit the Eaton into the Eliminator?

Whatever happened to the Kenny Belle SC, use a complete 3L swap and drop that bad boy in there. Aside from hood clearence why else would this not work?

Bret I know you were looking into this, but found the Kenny Belle guys uncooperative. Did they ever mention a price on the kit?

$2700 is what they quoted me... but that was over 9 months ago... not sure what they are going for now...

and the reason you can't just "drop" the kenne bell kit on... is because we have no room for the intercooler... and a few other modifications would have to be done... a larger pulley for one... and a custom chip... but other then that.. i don't see why this kit couldn't be put onto the existing 2.5L for much more then $1000 of fab work...

$3700 isn't too bad for what you would get... LOW END TORQUE!!! muwhahahahah, and i think u know how i feel about low end torque...

To start off, I think that a Lysholm (twin screw)type s/c would make better sense over the eaton, do to a more efficient design.

I'm wondering why you would need a intercooler w/the lysholm (sp?) type supercharger? Kenne Bell claims they don't need one on the mustangs do to better efficiency which translates into less heat. I'm not saying it isn't needed, just that it might not be essential.

Next up, I think the best place would be to set it in the the valley of the engine w/a new designed (fabricated) lower intake if possible.

I have been toying w/this subject in my head for awhile now. Somewhere down the road i'm going to find a lower intake in a wrecking yard and see what kind of work would need to be done and then talk to a shop in the area that produces Chevy intakes for the twin screw s/c. They might be able to produce something for me.

BTW, Brothers Performance wherehouse sold a kit (eaton based)for the Mustang that sat on the passanger side of the engine. I believe they called it the instacharger. So it is possible, just not probable in this situation.
