chknhwk,
I think there is a big concern to Duratec owners regarding the turbo kit. We all know the Duratec has its quirks and special ways it needs to be handled. The main argument on the other threads was basically this:
"Why choose to have someone that has NEVER messed with a Duratec to make a turbo kit??"
If there is a philosophy that "a turbo is a turbo, they're all the same" then something is seriously wrong. If Blue Ribbon's turbo kit for the V6 comes to pass, I would implore them to take some time learning about this engine. If they think they can take their knowledge of putting turbos on Hondas, Nissans, DSM, etc. and apply that same knowledge to the Duratec, they will be in for a big suprise.
I can assure you our kit is being made with or without a handful of Cougar/Contour owners. I'm not worried about that. My genuine concern is for the people that are going into this blindly.
I agree competition is good as we live in a capitalist economy, but at the cost of the consumer, no.
If the main reason for not going with the SF/HMS turbo kit is money, I can assure you, you get what you pay for with either kit.
(BTW, Blue Ribbon is listed as a "marine supply" company)
