I got a couple of questions out there for the contour owners. New contour turbo soon to be available we don't know what will exactly go in to your car just yet not until the prototypeing is done we have a rough idea though. If you would like to check out the site and see what we have put in our other kits we have built it will give you a good idea of what we can do for yours.We are designing a kit right now for a contour before we go any further and start to build this kit. It would be ready in about a month or so if we go further with this project it depends on you contour guys and how serious you guys are into performance and are willing to lay some money down now to be the very first one to have the ultimate turbo kit around. Because building a turbo kit is very costly endevor the tooling costs exceed $20,000 to $30,000 to develop each kit. I was wandering if any of you guys were interested in an stage 1 non intercooled turbo for just around $3,000 for all you mild performance guys who don't want to upgrade nothing in the car and a stage 2 intercolled kit for just around $4,000 for all you guys into some unbeliveable performance. For all of you who are willing to do internal mods the stage 3,4,5 would be very shortly down the line but what all those stages are mostly is internal mods only like turbo pistons, turbo cams, and forged rods. Now I wont go into all the peticulars in this thread but you can call me to talk. Here is just something to wet your whistle. The kit would have the garrett t3/t4 turbo, an external wastegate, stainless steel turbo exhaust manifold and a couple of other perks you serious performance guys would like. We have been building turbo kits for over forty years we know what we are doing blind folded and we make our kits consumer frendly so they can be installed in less than 9hrs for all the not so mechanically inclined for the experinced modder you should be able to install our kits in less than 7 and one more good thing about this kit is the fact that you dont have to drop the fuel tank to run the necessary fuel lines. Also one more thing if when you guys are saying atx do you mean atuomatic transmission because if that is the case then yes it would be compatiable we would have kits for both automatics and manuals. I'm in... in the fact that i'm interested IN a turbo. Your company and Chris Hightower (member of this site) both have this interest in the Turbo. Chris's is ready for prototyping but I know there are people looking for this kind of support for our cars. My money goes to the one who produces the best and can guarentee their product. I got a new job and two Contour's i gotta feed. :-) but i might sell the '96 and get a Prelude (i have a secret idea for that car).

OH by the way... there are two different Duratec engines...the regular one (cougar/contour) and an SVT one that's higher performance stock. What are you offering? There are also guys putting the 3.0L engine from the '99 Ford Tauras' too. I'm not the one to talk to about this but hopefully someone else can clarrify everything for you. But like i said... moneys' burning multiple holes in my pocket...i'm 21 and have the need for speed.

Ok, civickiller....You say this kit is cheaper and more upgradeable - SO? Let me ask you a question, who would you rather trust with pushing your engine to the limits of it's design? Two of our own CEG brethren, Terry Haines, who was there when the first Contour rolled off the line - and Chris Hightower, who is busting his @$$ to bring us the best possible turbo solution he can muster (the kit comes with EVERYTHING you need to complete the setup, it's going to go through thorough testing, will work on all tours....very well thought out and planned IMO - I'm sure Terry's Duratec Turbo will be incredible as well, I expect nothing less!)Let's not forget Chris Turbo kit will push the motor to the most it's internals can take before exploding....tweaking wouldn't be smart without upgrading intrenal parts (pistons, rods, bearings) which = more $$$ and lots of it!

Or....some guy who nobody's ever seen before, who's website doesn't even work..talking about how it's cheaper and whatever. Ok, so it's cheaper - Does it include
-Spearco water/air intercooler (with complete water circuit)
-Headers, SS, T304 mandrel bent tubular Jet Hot Coated
-High flow air filter -Apexi S-AFC fuel computer-PCM chip (Probably DiabloSport)
-Blow-off valve
-All necessary water, oil, and intercooler lines
-All necessary intake piping and exhaust downpipe to cat?????

Hmm...
What about a 1 year warranty against defects?

I'm not trying to be down on the guy, but lets be realistic. Everyone's drooling over the fact that it's cheaper....well did it ever occur to you that you get what you pay for?? We know who terry is, we know who chris is...we know how we can get in contact with him - This guy provides a link to a website that doens't work! Hey, I can say i'm in business for 40 years too!! Before you guys start plopping down money, you should get some facts out of this guy. Perhaps an itemized list of the stuff that the kit will include. Etc. I just don't wan to see a bunch of people getting robbed and losing money on a turbo it that doesn't deliver. It's going ot be a while before I can afford any kit, but, as of now I can't think of a better alternative than Terry or Chris's products. There's more at stake here than money.

People are funny. In one thread, they're bashing 1turbofocus because the kit he is offering is so expensive. In this one, you're bashing contourdreams because his kis is so cheap.

You guys need to make up your minds.

Ever heard of Street Flight? That's the company making the turbo that has Chris' name attached to it. It Chris had found Blue Ribbon Turbo instead of Street Flight, and Street Flight was on here trying to sell a turbo, you guys would be saying the EXACT same thing about Street Flight that you are saying about Blue Ribbon Turbo.

There will be a list of the parts that comes in the kit as soon as we decide there is enough interest in the kit to even make one everybody says they want a turbo now, now ,now but nobody has the money right this minute. Even chris said to me that he only had one or was it two deposit for his kit and he has been talking about doing this a lot longer than I have. Also I know there is something wrong with the site something is wrong with there sever they said should be up shortly just relax. I could give you a basic rundown or what we put in other kits we have built but there not contours nor are they cougars either. I could say one thing and it might be another. Iam new here and don't want to make enemies and I dont want to come off as a liar would you I think not. As soon as we get a car our prototype car in the shop and see what were looking at exactly then we will put a list up for those who need one.

I didn't bash turbofocus over the price of his kit....Price is definitley an issue, but a cheaper turbo isn't something you automatically jump on cause it's cheaper. I'd rather have the peace of mind of something with Terry H's name on it or Chris Hightower backing it, but whatever :rolleyes:

why would you say something that foolish...how many turbo kits have terry haines or chris hightower put out? have you seen first hand a turbo car done by either one of them? have you ever been to terry's shop? have you seen the quality of this work? same goes for chris. i am in no way bashing terry or chris, but it just distrubs me when people put soo much blind faith in something they know nothing about. terry and chris are not exactly established turbo tuners. i look forward to seeing how both kits turn out, but just go in with your head up.
