Problem is that they are not heat treated splines and they cannot cope with angulation - 'nuff said

Simon, looks exactly like mine! I sent it off to Vortech a couple weeks back. My splines weren't completely worn off yet, but awfully damn close. I'm thinking of giong the cryo treat route before I install the new pieces.

I had a 2 hour drive to get it home to where I could remove it. That would explain the total lack of splines frown

When I do get it reinstalled, I am going to keep the stock belt with me, so I can bypass the blower if it ever happens again.

On a good note Simon. My totally new S/C just showed up via UPS this morning. About a 2 week turnaround!

Thats promising. They must be getting pretty good at diagnosing them and sending them back...or else they are just saying,"oh F***, not another one. pack up a new one and send it back." laugh

Sending mine off tomorrow, so hopefully I wont have to wait too long. Might try a cryo treat the shaft as well.

Good luck

What the hell Rick? I sent mine before you. I sent mine three weeks ago and have yet to see anything. I did tell Vortech to install S-trim gears instead of that SQ-crap. Hopefully this is why.

If they're custom building it for you, that's no doubt why it's taking longer. The one Rick got back was a totally different unit with the updated shaft. Looks like they are doing the "Oh Fire trUCK, here's another one" bit and sending out already rebuilt units.

HAHAHA! yeah exactly. I sure hope they are installing the S-trim for me. I called them today to see what the deal was and the phones are busy, so I am going to give it a try later.
