Want to know what you guys think. Um i know there isnt a kit out for the cars but i talk to a mechanic about getting a TT off of a 3000GT VR-4 or a Dogde Stealth R/T ... he said he could get it to fit, just a little bit of custom work but it will work ... now do you think 4500 to 6500 is too much to get the TT installed ... but i am also a little worried about how the car will react to the TT ... let me here your opinions.

Thank

Jeff

I say go for it. I think that the engine would love the extra breathing, as long as you address the limiting factors along with it: fuel, drivetrain and cooling. If you want to maximize the intake potential, then you should look at porting heads, intake and going w/ a larger TB and MAF.
I say do it! I just wish I could help...

if you have a 99-00 with the returnless fuel system you are heading down a long road filled with headaches...

What does it take other than an inline pump, larger injectors, and a custom chip burn?

There is a place in the Miami area called TDC, Turbo Driven Concepts Inc. They sell a TT kit for 79-95s and 96-02 Mustang GT's.
Basically, they have worked out the "bugs" for the 'stang,so I'm sure they would help you with any fuel/computer questions you have for the tour. 305.392.7450.
or try www.turbodrivenconcepts.com

Can NOT use an inline pump with a returnless car. You have to replace the pump altogether with a higher flow unit.
Yes they are available.

I would be surprised if he could do a custom TT setup for a mere $6500...

Actually finding a place to stick it is a major chore, finding a spot for the intercooler, custom plumbing for 2 turbos and routing them in said space...

I think the $6500 may buy all the materials, but into the job he'll be saying, "okay I need another $6500 for labor, R&D, tuning, etc" eek

BTW - Single turbo is far more efficient and will make more power.

Yeah a friend of mine is a performance mechanic or whatever you want to call him haha ... anyways you really doesnt charge me anything for labor , just parts. I mean yeah i will pay for labor but not that much labor cause he owns his own business and does everything for me practically free. I just wanted a second opinion, custom turbo? custom TT? or supercharger ... which one you think would be better in the outcome?

A single turbo on a V-6, ok i dont get it, how the heck does that work? TT is the best option. Ive been thinking about this a long time too. If you have the chance to do this, you could be a pioneer for TT'ing the contour. Good luck, and keep us posted.

1.

2. Not by a long shot! TT's are used to decrease turbo lag, but sacrifice high end power. I know quite a few people that have switched from TT to single.
