Like I stated before, the ZX2 uses the same Zetec as the rest. The Escorts unfortunately have a sorry tranny (M5 - also refered to as the G5M). I am not sure of the power potential of the tranny, but I am sure it would most definitely fail if not driven properly on boost ... consider it job security
