ok, The motor says 3.0 on top. It is a 97' Taurus GL. Is it a duratec?

Future Mods: Fully Zaino'd/front and rear sway bars(w/ custom BNOON powdercoating)/Strut tower brace/SVT exhaust/underdrive pulleys/SVT upper and lower intakes/Superchip/B&M short shift/SVT front bumper/and some others I haven't decided on yet.

If it says 3.0L on the top, it is probably the Vulcan

Taurus GLs were the bottom line of Tauruses of that generation. Chances are very slim that it is a Duratec.

BTW - Isn't is 98 and up 3L Duratecs that are compatible anyway???

You can actually use the older '96-'97 blocks too, just need to modify the trans bolt pattern by drilling and tapping a hole as well as some slight cutting to clear the starter position with out MTX. Someone on here actually did that I think... I don't remember who it was though... Not quite as easy as the newer '98-'99 blocks, but you can do it. wink
