Well given that the stock damper is very suboptimal and lots of bending/"whip" is occuring to fatigue the metal it is not surprising that it would seem so. But how weak is it really? It is a forged from billet steel.. I would think with a DMD it should hold up well. I have not heard of crank failures just spun bearings?? Several of the S/C cars are making near 350 HP for 10,000 miles, Dutweiller's turbo was 450 HP, in the article he said it looked like a pretty stout piece..?? confused
