Even though I own a cougar and not a contour I've got a question for Terry. The cougar S was suppose to be AWD but that car was axed at the last minute. Did the 2002 cougar go into production with the AWD mounting points, properly shaped gas tank, etc or were those removed from the plans? Ok I've another question. I keep hearing about your bulldog gear box...have a website with any information on it? Like max hp/tq it can handle....stuff like that.

Terry I would LOVE it if you had a web site detailing your services and costs. I think for all your help here someone would offer to host it for you. Man that would save you some serious e-mail time. Just a thought! smile

I believe word of mouth has been working well for Terry as he is up to his "rear end" in work. Building a website is probably not at the top of his priority list right now. I'm sure if you call/write, he'll be happy to answer your questions.

The Cougar S concept car was all wheel drive. The production Cougar S was going to be front wheel drive.

Well, as for just the parts from the X-type (did some day dreaming myself) I was able to come up with a qoute of 12,500 for the computer, 3.0L engine, drivetrain, steering and suspension. So basically this below. This is for salavaged parts mind you. Minus the exhaust.

Then think of all the fabricated parts!!! I had contacted Robert Mumm for any custom fabrication. The overall amount would be insane. Not to mention the fact that the car would still be relatively slow. Add the Haines/Hightower turbo and then you would have drivetrain work mostlikely also. So after you spend 25k on the setup, reconsider and just get an SVT Cobra, unless you really love your tour. Trust me, the coug would be there right now except I have no more than 3% of the money needed and no spare time. smile
