I saw a 3.0L Duratec Miata in suburban Detroit last fall. I recognized it as a 3.0L from an article in Road and Track, with a big hood scoop and some sweet red paint. It had a manufacturer's M-plate on it, so I assume it belonged to Ford. Alas, it was only a one-off made for showing off.

I doubt there will ever be a production V6 Miata.

That rumor dispelled, it is true that the 3.0L Duratec shows up in more and more cars. Unfortunately, the latest instance is in the 2003 Mazda MPV - not a whole lot of aftermarket potential there.
