Hey guys,
I'm going to attempt to build my 3L project and I have a set of SVT heads and cams and my plan is to go with 3L valves and P&P and enlarge the primaries to 36mm and the secondaries to 37mm. Then follow those diameters up through the UIM to a 70mm TB.
What I'm wondering is that I'll probably have over $1000 in head work when I'm done and I will have more HP then a std 3L swap but I think it was Jiako that swapped SVT cams into the 3L heads and he was pulling 197FWP, why? Its essentially a stock 3L 200hp/200tq with slightly upgraded cams and a SVT PCM, is that what gives and extra roughly 40hp?

I mean that would mean that if I have a taurus and I swapped cams and a PCM (provided you could work around the auotmatic thing) it would be worth 240hp. Is this a gimmick that Ford used to hold down the hp??
At any rate I'll probably still go the 2.5 head route since I have them but just wondering since you can get brand new 3L heads for about $500. Thanks!
