How do you r emove the 24 valve DOHC emblems on the fender with out ruining the paint?

oh btw u might find a hole under there i hope u have sidemarkers to put if u do. i have read that some dont have this hole.

You will find a nice little hole under their if its less than 4 years old. I took mine off and had to replace it with a $4 Taurus DOHC 24 Valve emblem. I removed the door ding strips too. Nothing worse than a nicely washed car with wax build up in the seams.

out of curiosity why is the hole there? our fender have sharper lines than the mondeao so it isnt like they are from the same press.

anyway i was putting markes in so either way i have to make the hole bigger

Does anyone know if there is a sidemarker that fits into the hole without any drilling. One that just pops in, or do they all require enlarging the hole.

No you don't have to repaint. It has been posted before, but rare that a few that have taken them off don't have clear coat underneath the door ding guards... but that is the risk you take or you can remove a small corner on a back door to see if you have clear coat... check THIS LINK for all the info on removal scroll down a bit and you will see.

i am pretty sure there is no drop in marker.

i had to make mine like 1.5 in wide and like 3/4 in high. like the how to says it is not for the faint hearted. I used the ford markers like the ones in batinc. they are also the same ones seen on the f series with dualies. they mark the fenders

BTW--which means "by the way," (I'll save you from asking another dumb question) SEARCH also works for white face gauges, powdercoated wheels, etc....... :rolleyes:
