I don't have any pictures posted yet but from what I can find out it looks like the 2001 2.5/3.0 engines have a total of 6 oil return holes in the heads, compared to 4 on the pre 2001 2.5L engines. All 3L engines have 6 holes.

Its possible the 2000 engines may have these extra holes but I haven't had a chance to look at them.

What this means is that there is two holes at the very rear/left of the heads. When you make a right hand turn the oil will go down these holes. Unlike the rest of us where the oil will sit there until enough has built up and will 'overflow' down the center hole or you stop making a right hand turn.

This would also makes it easier for 3.0/2.5L hybrid engines. No more welding/blocking of those two extra holes, they should match right up.

No difference in the oil pan to keep the oil from sloshing around.
